The One After Chandler Finds Out

Clearly, the Landlord has a really messed up sense of humour. Blue flannel sheets on the bed, a small TV on a desk that's otherwise covered in action figures. It's just like his room at home, only bigger.

"Oh, that's cute," he mumbles, tossing the key onto the desk.

He steps inside the room and kicks off his shoes, letting Demeter follow him in.

"She's trying to make you comfortable."

On the way up, Demeter had got some food from the wait rats and is holding a tray with some of his favorite things to eat,

"Now sit down and let's get you fed."

He does as he's told, and reaches for one of the paper cartons.

"Did you want anything?" he asks. He may be slightly distraught, but that won't stop him being polite.

"Thank you, but I'm fine for now."

She rubs her hand on his back again before going to get him a large glass of water.

When she comes back, he takes the water and leans against her shoulder. "Do you know anyone else... like this?"

He's not even sure there's a proper word for it.

"I've never thought to find out, it doesn't seem important."

"Seems kind of important from where I'm standing," Chandler points out.

"Oh, my god. What if Joey does find this place? Or anybody?"

"I know it does, but I think in the end it matters far less than you think it does."

"Anybody here could know... things about me," Chandler points out.

[wheatencrown]

"Most people here know quite a lot about me."

"Yeah, but isn't that weird?"

"Yes, but that's also been true for a rather long part of my life. You do get used to it in time."

"Yeah, but they know things. Oh, god. That must mean that..."

He manages to stop himself short, this time.

"That what?"

He's blushing now.

"Nothing."

She gives him a hug, "Oh Chandler, you worry too much."

"It's kinda... one of those things," he says nervously. "You already kind of know part of it."

She smooths back his hair and kisses his forehead,

"Chandler, I don't care and you don't have to tell me if you don't want to."

"Good," he says simply.

Really, the fact that millions of people on countless other worlds know is bad enough.

"Now, what else would make you feel better?"

Chandler sits up slightly and looks at the television. Next to it is a slim, silver box.

"What's that?" he asks.

"I'm not sure. Oh its for playing DVDs I think."

[pickyourmoments]

"I thought it was a VCR for a second, but it's too small," Chandler says, sounding slightly disappointed. "What's a DVD?"

[wheatencrown]

"A way to play movies and things. I think I see a remote."

Demeter picks it up and turns it on, not sure what to expect.

Chandler isn't sure what to expect either. The plain blue screen, telling them to insert a DVD is definitely new.

"We don't have these back home," he says. "Think we could get a... DVD thing of Die Hard?"

"I don't see why not."
